“Few will have the greatness to bend history itself, but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.” —Robert Kennedy Use symbols and scenes to create legacy portraits of historical figures that have made a difference in our country. Create a similar portrait of a family member, showing how he or she makes a difference in a student’s life. Compare and contrast the portraits, noticing how people throughout history influence one another and how family members and role models impacted the lives of famous historical figures. Discuss possible long-term effects of our family members’ positive influence on our own lives, choices, and accomplishments.
