Accomplished playwright, educator, performing artist, and podcaster Tori Rice brings a unique skillset to CoTA: serving as a guest artist/teacher with the Aurora Mime Theatre, using improvisation, dance and movement theatre in elementary school classrooms as a tool to enhance learning. For over two decades, Tori’s work has spanned California and Arizona to reach multiple audiences. In alignment to CoTA’s methodologies of teaching, Tori has fostered collaboration, teamwork and communication throughout her residencies. She has enjoyed productions in traditional spaces throughout the world, as well as site-specific and immersive theatre in cafés and courtrooms. Most recently, her play Box of Teeth, won contests with FUSION Theatre’s The Seven; NVA Final Draft New Play Festival 2022, Dragon Eggs 2021 and Scripteasers 2021. She moderated the Theatre for Young Audience panels at the 2022 Inge Festival via her podcast Hey Playwright. She is a proud member of the Dramatist Guild, Honor Roll!, TYA/USA, and a selected participant of the 2022 Summer Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive.
